........Ladies and gentlemen...La Paz!
We've arrived a few days ago and were anchoring in a pretty heavy wind... not that fun if you're trying to rest after days of sailing!
The wind is now gone and La Paz is warm and welcoming like its local people. Now I sound like a tour guide don't I...?!!!!
We've got a slip into the Marina ( Marina de La Paz) and it's going to be our base for the next few weeks... We needed to do some work on the boat helped by Len who has been sharing our journey for a few days coming down from Ensenada ...so...time for some work, some cleaning, some grocery shopping and all that stuff you need to take care of after constantly moving for days...in such awful places... ;-)
The journey from Cabo San Lucas was great...a bit uncomfortable when we got to Cerralvo with its strong currents... try and sleep when the boat is on one side and you're bumping left and right and up and down!
Worth the trouble though and...what kind of a sailor would I be if I was to complain about it!;-)
La Paz is a very nice city with lots of colors, nice restaurants, like the one we went to for a delicious lobster yesterday night (Sugar, the owner treated us with amazing food!)
and lots of activities for those who like sports... diving, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling... and
those who come here for whale watching.
We also can't wait to sail to the Espiritus Santos island... amazing diving waiting for us
and it just looks like it's gonna be a little paradise!
We'll also be exploring a bit of the inland before Christmas when some friends will come and visit us.
Here are a few pictures of our 1000 miles since we left which describe our magic journey better than words.
p.s. In your head you can picture the best image of them all...Apple jumping in the water from the boat and swimming all the way into the bay chasing a big fat seal like there was no tomorrow! Mike had to go get her so the current wouldn't take away that silly little thing!!!
